Q: What is the Citizen Alert System?

A: A Canadian (QC) communication platform that delivers important information to residents in their preferred format and in real time. 

Q: What are the available messaging formats?

A: The system sends messages via cell phone, landline phone, email and TTS (Text to Speech). You may choose your preferred fomat.

Q: Do I need to download an application to use Citizen Alert?

A: No! You do not need to download anything. 

Q: What kind of messages can I expect to receive from the Town?

A: The alert system will announce service disruptions, road closures, other concerns of an emergent nature, and important community updates. 

Q: How do I sign up for this service?

A: It's easy! Register HERE or visit the Town Office to sign up in person.

Q: Can I receive messages in French?

A: Yes! You can choose your language preferences when you sign up. 

Q: Why am I receiving messages in French? 

A: French is the default language. Please make sure to select English in the language dropdown.

Q: I'm not sure if I've signed up already/ How can I check or change my preferences?

A: You can check your registration or change your preferences by following the link at the top of the registration page or by contacting the Town Office. You will need to contact the Town Office if you did not include an email address in your original form submission. 

 

 

Q: How can I delete my registration?

It's the same process as updating your preferences but click on the "I wish to be removed from the sending list" at the top of the form. 

Q: I'm not a Gravelbourg resident. Can I sign up for Citizens Alert?

A: Yes! Anyone wanting to receive notifications may sign up for this service. 

Q: Why do you need my address?

Once the majority of households and businesses sign up for the service, we will be able to target messages regarding service disruptions and avoid sending notifications to unaffected residents.
