Facility Rules

  • Emergency procedures must be observed. Swimmers must leave the pool area immediately upon the signal or request of the lifeguard.
  • We encourage parents/guardians to always swim with their children and enjoy the water together for safe family fun!
  • Seating on the deck will be reserved for those parents/guardians with children aged 8 and under. All other parents/guardians/patrons must watch from the mezzanine.
  • Disposable diapers are not permitted in the water. Children who are not toilet trained are required to wear swim diapers. Swim diapers can be purchased from the Aquaplex Centre.
  • Food, drinks, and chewing gum are prohibited. 
  • Proper swim attire is required. Cut-offs, street shorts and t-shirts are not permitted.
  • No shoes in the pool area.
  • Any behaviour deemed unsafe by the lifeguards is prohibited.
  • Back flips are NOT allowed off the deck or diving boards.
  • No horseplay to include wrestling, fighting, bullying or pushing. If you receive more than 3 warnings, you will be removed from the pool.
  • Diving is only permitted in the deep end.
  • The Gravelbourg & District Aquaplex Centre and its employees are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property. We advise patrons to use lockers (provide your own lock) but strongly encourage you to leave valuables at home. Valuables will NOT be kept by pool staff.
  •  No person having a communicable disease or open sores shall enter the pool.
  • Anyone found to be responsible for a closure due to fecal matter will be assigned all costs to clean and re-open the pool.
  • The Lifeguards decision is final! During public swimming, the lifeguard's job is to guard the pool and react to any emergency that might arise. Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising and monitoring behaviour of their children.

Admission Policy

Anyone aged 8 years and older who are unable to pass the swimming test must be accompanied someone of 16 years of age and older who is responsible for their *direct supervision, with a maximum of 3 swimmers per supervisor.

  • If the participant can complete the following Swim Test to the lifeguard’s satisfaction, the participant can remain in the big pool.
    • Swim Test:
      • Jump into the deep end.
      • Tread water for 1 minute.
      • Swim 25 metres in 1 minute or less using a recognized stroke.
  • If the participant can not complete the Swim Test, he/she can remain in the big pool, but they MUST wear a lifejacket. If they remove the lifejacket, they must return to the small pool.
