Sweet Deals & Frozen Toes

When a new store opens in town, you show up—no matter the weather! That was the spirit in Gravelbourg as determined shoppers bundled up against -30°C temperatures to line up for the highly anticipated grand opening of Red Apple.
At 9 a.m., Mayor Forest and council helped cut the ribbon before the crowd surged inside, eager to explore the transformed former Home Hardware building. What did they find? A store packed with groceries, clothing, household essentials, and Red Apple's delightfully notorious wall of candy!
The first 100 shoppers scored a $10 shopping card and a laundry basket, a prize combo that had locals joking they could now haul home their sweet loot in style. The checkout line stretched across the store as shoppers filled their baskets, proving that Gravelbourg was more than ready to welcome Red Apple
And because no celebration is complete without cake, shoppers enjoyed a sweet treat after braving the bitter cold. Despite the frosty start to the day, the grand opening was a warm success, proving that when Gravelbourg wants to shop, a little (or a lot of) cold won’t stop them!
